The Model

Six layers. Six pillars. One system.

A sovereign architecture for studying human consciousness, from community to computation to a navigable map of inner experience.

Sensoria six layer architecture stack from community through capture, sovereignty, and computation, to the Neurophenomenological State Space
The Layers

Six layers, each feeding the next.

Together they form a cycle: experience generates data, data generates knowledge, knowledge refines the next experience.

1
Foundation

Community. The human foundation.

Our research starts with people. The community of explorers, certified psychonauts, node leaders, and researchers is the living base of the entire model. Without it, none of the layers above have anything to study.

A distributed network organized around shared purpose.
Live gatherings that serve as infrastructure for both transformation and inquiry.
Local nodes that grow into chapters with accountable leads.

2
Calibration

Quality / Ground Truth. Calibrated observers.

What distinguishes Sensoria's data from a survey is the combination of calibrated observers and intentional contexts. Trained reporters work inside experiential containers that are iteratively refined, where the stimulus, context, and conditions of recording are known.

Structured training in phenomenological reporting and state navigation.
Data captured inside intentionally designed, controlled contexts, not in the wild.
Tiered competency framework that accounts for experience level and reporting sophistication.
A trained observer giving a careful phenomenological report under known, controlled conditions while a researcher records it, the report captured as a clean signal
3
Capture

Capture. Multimodal, low-friction.

Rich phenomenological data requires capture tools that work in the flow of real experience. The capture layer fuses subjective report with physiological signal on a shared timeline, embedded in the experience itself.

Adaptive interviewing that meets each participant at their level of sophistication.
Multimodal fusion of physiological and phenomenological signal.
Embedded, non-intrusive collection designed for real settings.
A participant in a real setting wearing a discreet sensor band, in conversation with an adaptive companion as voice, biometric, and phenomenological signals fuse on one shared timeline
4
Sovereignty

Data Sovereignty. Privacy first by design.

Consciousness research requires our most intimate data. The sovereignty layer is the design commitment that participants own their data, that computation comes to data, and that consent is dynamic and revocable.

Participants own and control their own data.
Models come to data, not data to models.
Decentralized architecture resistant to extraction or institutional misuse.

5
Computation

Computation. Analysis without exposure.

Between raw data and the knowledge that emerges from it sits a computation layer designed to process consented data without exposing it. Aggregate insights flow back to the community, while individual data never leaves the participant's control.

Confidential compute environments that process data without revealing it.
Privacy-filtered aggregate insights returned to the community.
A feedback loop where what is learned at the system level refines tools at the capture level.
Consented data streams entering a sealed compute enclave that returns only a single privacy-filtered aggregate insight to a waiting community
6
Knowledge

Knowledge. The map.

The output of the system. A multidimensional, navigable view of conscious experience where distances, trajectories, and relationships between states become measurable. The Neurophenomenological State Space is the work in progress that every layer below feeds into.

A view of human conscious experience that is navigable, not just listable.
Distances and trajectories between states made measurable, not just describable.
A foundation that compounds, with each contribution refining what comes next.

The Pillars

Six components, each addressing a layer of the model.

Psychonaut Certification

Calibrating the observer

Training in phenomenological reporting, state navigation, and data protocols. Certified psychonauts produce the calibrated observations the science depends on.

State/Trait Engineering

From transient state to lasting trait

The methodological discipline of designing conscious states with the transition from state to trait in mind. How to shape state, trait, and context together with intention. Minimal sufficiency: the lightest intervention required to reach the target state.

Euqualia

A phenomenological companion

A sovereign personal companion for mapping the felt quality of experience. Adaptive interviewing trained in microphenomenological method, meeting each person at their level of sophistication.

NeuroPhen Suite

Beyond verbal report

A multimodal capture approach fusing first-person report with physiological signal on a shared timeline. Subjective and objective channels examined together rather than separately.

Sovereign Data

You own your consciousness data

The Sovereign Data Research Fabric. Encrypted personal vaults, computation that comes to data, dynamic and revocable consent. The design commitment that privacy is architectural.
